 Im reflecting on Kupes adventures from Hawaiki to NZ. According to my research Kupe was the first to discover this land of Aotearoa. His wahine Kuramarotini named Aotearoa the name means the long white cloud in which she saw when discovering Aotearoa. What brought Kupe here was he followed a wheke called Muturangi which was the wheke of his opponent. He wanted to kill the wheke however the wheke got away. This helped my learning because I got to know the history of my tupuna and my job is to share this knowledge to the next generation. It was very enjoyable and I thank my teacher for getting us to learn about Maori Migration.
